Oily skin is characterised by excessive secretion of the sebaceous glands. Oily skin can look greasy and shows enlarged pores, shiny and thickened skin, a yellowish colour or flaking (sensitivity to microbial agents).
This skin type also shows superficial dehydration, because excess sebum blocks intracellular circulation. This skin type is cleansed with special emulsions and toning lotions that help regulate the secretion of the sebaceous glands.
