Description
A therapeutic massage that aims to release tension, pain and blockages by working on the deep muscle layers, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue. It is performed with slow but firm movements, gentle stretches, increasing pressure or friction, with the therapist using elbows, forearms, fists and fingers.
It is important to drink more water than usual after the massage to help eliminate lactic acid from the tissues and its uptake into the lymphatic circulation.
The beneficial effect of this massage is felt 1-2 days after the treatment, when the functional capacity of the muscles is restored and the pain lessens or disappears completely. Physical exercise, sauna, swimming and increased water intake are recommended.
